Fran�ois Gautier born in Paris in 1959, is a French journalist and writer, who was for eight years the political correspondent in India and South Asia for " Le Figaro " and worked for Ouest-France, the largest circulation daily (1 million copies) and Marianne, a political magazine. He is currently working as Editor in Chief La Revue de l'Inde Fran�ois Gautier has written several books: �Un autre Regard sur l'Inde" (Editions du Tricorne, Geneva-Paris),which has been reprinted twice since; "Arise O India" (Har Anand) 1999, "A Western journalist on India" (Har-Anand 2001), "India's Self Denial (Editions Auroville Press, 2001) and "Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a guru of Joy" (India Today Book Club, 2002).
He is the founder Trustee of Foundation Against Continuing Terrorism (FACT) . He is married to Namrita, an Indian and has lived in India for the past 33 years. Francois, who wrote extensively for the �Ferengi�s Column� in the Indian Express and the �French Connection� column in the Pioneer and contributes regularly to Rediff.
He was awarded the journalism prize (Natchiketa award of excellence in journalism) in 2003 by the then Prime minister of India Sri Atal Behari Vajpayee and the Pragna Puraskar by Pragna Bharathi Hyderabad. He can be reached online at his website Francois Gautier.
